The DELF Prim is aimed at children under the age of 12. It has 3 different levels A1.1, A1 and A2. The exam topics are made to suit the age group’s interest: immediate environment (family, personal details, interests, friends), everyday situations, etc.. You can register your child directly on our website. Please be careful to enter your child details (name, surname, DOB) and not your own details

There are 2 other exam centres for the DELF/DALF in Ireland : The Alliances Françaises of Cork and Limerick. The Alliance Francaise Dublin is the only Alliance where you can sit the TEF, DFP and TCF exams.

It is possible to register for all the levels of the DELF but you will have to pay and attend all the different levels you are registering for.

The exam centre must be notified of any change made to a candidate’s name, or any other modification of personal details between the registration date and the date of issue of the diploma, which must be validated by official documents. Upon receiving your exam notification, prior to the exam, the candidate should check for any mistakes in their personal details and inform the exam centre of any change needed. Any change requested following the publication of results will incur an additional fee of €12 (this does not include the postal fees).

As per our Terms and Conditions, candidates have a right to cancel their registration within 14 days after paying for the exam. Click to see our terms and conditions.

Late registrations can be considered under special circumstances – following consideration by the exam centre of the individual situation – and no later than 2 weeks prior to the exam. For late registration, an administrative fee of 30% will apply.

If you have not received your notification of attendance within the week preceding the exam, make sure you have checked your junk emails and write to us at exams@alliance-francaise.ie

In order to get ready for the exam, you can enrol for one of our preparation classes for the DELF. The classes take place over the course of 6 weeks preceding the exam date, you can book your preparation class here.

The exam will take place at the Alliance Française Dublin, 1 Kildare Street. You will find the exact room and floor on your notification of attendance.

Make sure you are available the entire day of the exam.

Alliance Française Dublin does all that is possible to accommodate candidates with disabilities to undertake our exams. Alliance Française Dublin is located in a protected historical building and is currently unable to have a wheelchair ramp installed. If any special accommodation is needed (computer, scribe, reader) you should provide the exam centre a medical report describing the disability and extent of the disability and the accommodation needed upon registering for the exam. The medical report should be transmitted to the exam centre before the registration deadline. The Exam Service will process the request and provide the appropriate accommodation within its abilities.

Candidates who arrive after the scheduled start of the examination will not be admitted to the examination room. The registration fee is non-refundable.

On the day of the exam, make sure you bring your printed notification of attendance and an original proof of ID. You will need a blue or black pen (no pencil). Draft papers will be provided by the exam centre. The use of a monolingual dictionary is only permitted for the C1 exam (only for the preparation to the oral) and for the DALF C2 (for all parts of the exam).
