To mark the beginning of this new year 2026, the Alliance Française is launching Art Focus, a new series of online art history lectures that will take place throughout the year.

Led by French art historian Gilles Genty, these lectures in French will introduce you to key moments in artistic creation, blending fine arts, painting, literature, music, photography, cinema… and the remarkable talent of the artists behind them.

Gilles Genty is an Art historian, former lecturer at the École du Louvre, former Director of the Petit Palais Museum in Geneva, and project manager at the Musée des Monuments Français.

He has curated numerous exhibitions in Paris, Lyon, Valence, Rotterdam, Brescia, and Montreal.

He is the author of several works on art, notably on Symbolism and Art Nouveau, as well as on Paul Ranson and Pierre Bonnard.
