Due to the high demand from our learners, we are always on the lookout for FLE teachers.

Position:

  • Teach French to a wide range of students at levels A1 to C1, either face-to-face or co-modally, at our premises.
  • Implement a modern pedagogy, based on a communicative approach and the pedagogical progression of the Alliance Française de Dublin;
  • Evolve in a competitive and dynamic multicultural context, with a reactive and demanding public;
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions;
  • Participate in pedagogical development projects;
  • Participate in the general activities of the Alliance Française de Dublin.

Skills and training:

  • Training: Master MEEF, M1 FLE, DAEFLE, DPAFP
  • Current presence in Ireland desirable;
  • Professional experience in teaching FLE to young learners preferred;
  • Good communication skills, initiative and adaptability;
  • Demonstrate dynamism, enthusiasm, involvement, flexibility and cultural openness;
  • DELF-DALF examiner/corrector accreditation would be a plus;
  • Versatility: openness to innovative teaching practices and teaching different types of classes would be appreciated.

Contractual conditions

  • Flexible hours contract
  • Group lessons: firstly evenings 6:30-8:30 pm or Saturdays for children
  • Individual lessons: variable, according to demand

Position:  

From Tuesday 28 to Friday 31st October, the Alliance Francaise is hosting Halloween Camps for young kids from 3 to 18. We are looking for a Child-minder to support our activity and assist teachers with the reception, animation and hygiene of children.

He/she will be in charge of reception and will carry out the following tasks:

  • Welcome children and parents, pass on information and direct requests.
  • Prepare the classroom before the children arrive (set up drawing and play areas).
  • Prepare and clean the premises and equipment used directly by the children.
  • Ensure children’s personal cleanliness (toilets, hand washing, runny noses, shoelaces, etc.).
  • Participate in the supervision and animation of teaching activities.
  • Participate in the educational community.

Contractual terms:

  • Place of work: Alliance Francaise de Dublin, 1 Kildare Street
  • Fixed-term contract from Tuesday 28 to Friday 31st October 2025
  • Your usual working hours will be:
    • Monday to Friday 9h30 – 16h (9h30 – 10h: welcome children, 12h-13h: lunch with one class, 13h-14h: break)

Person specification and key skills

  • Enjoy working with children.
  • Rigorous and methodical.

  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage difficult interpersonal situations.
  • Intermediate French is a plus
  • Knowledge of active listening, communication and animation techniques.

  • Master the professional postures to adopt in the event of accidents, allergic reactions, behavioral problems, etc.

In May 2025, we proudly opened our own café: Madeleine. Named after the iconic French sponge cake so dear to Marcel Proust, Madeleine is fully managed by Alliance Française and sources its products exclusively from trusted partner companies.

Initially offering a sweet menu with coffee and French pastries (madeleines, croissants, chouquettes…), the café is now expanding into savoury options, including Croque-monsieurs and Toastés végétariens. This evolving project is designed to grow in response to customer feedback and community needs.

Position:  

  • Ensure excellent customer service,
  • Handle ordering and inventory,
  • Track financial records to increase profitability and customer engagement.

Reporting:

The Barrista will report directly to the Coffee Manager.

Key Areas of responsibility: 

  • Prepare and serve a variety of espresso drinks, including lattes, cappuccinos, and macchiatos, with precision and consistency
  • Provide friendly and efficient customer service, ensuring every guest receives a personalized coffee experience
  • Operate espresso machines and other coffee equipment with skill and proficiency
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the café, including the espresso bar and service areas
  • Contribute to menu development and suggest creative beverage ideas to enhance the customer experience
  • Uphold our commitment to quality by following established brewing techniques and standards

Skills: 

  • Work experience as Barista
  • Hands-on experience with professional coffee machines
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanour
  • French is required

Compensation and Benefits:   

  • Usual hours of work: 30 hours per week, from Tuesday to Friday (10h45 – 19h)
  • Place of Work: 1 Kildare Street, Dublin 2
