Les Joutes Oratoires are a debating competition in French for Secondary School students. This contest has been organised under the auspices of the Alliance Française Dublin for over 20 years. It was first launched in the Republic of Ireland in 1990 with a view to enhancing students’ oral learning skills through a structured system of debates in the French language.

Schools may register their team each September, with rounds taking place from October to March and a big finale during the celebrations of the Francophonie Month.
